Billing Questions

If you have questions related to a bill you received please contact us:

When your child receives care from a doctor who is part of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Physician network, the physician who provides that care will send a bill to your insurance company for payment.

  • If you’re paying the bill yourself (called “self-pay”), your payment should be made at the time of service.
  • If the insurance company covers the amount of the doctor’s bill, they’ll pay him or her directly.
  • If the insurance company only covers a part of the doctor’s bill, we’ll send you a bill for the part that wasn’t covered.
  • You may need to contact your insurance company directly to find out what they do and do not pay for, according to the terms of your contract with them.
